I have experience with memory card reader (SDHC) my laptop default can sometimes function normally sometimes not. It was thought physical memorynya less or less fit pas position, but it was not because if again crash, memory has been put as well as possible but still not working. Trying to use another memory may be problematic memory, but still the same problem.
Had already concluded, memory card reader is damaged, even during this rarely used because it had bought an external card reader instead.
But not deliberate fit-see in the settings BIOSnya there is a choice Card Reader Power Saving. Try to change the setting that was Enable to Disable.
After changing the settings in the BIOS, card reader is normal and never problematic again.
If you have the same problem with the card reader on your laptop, check the BIOS if there is a Power Saving Card Reader setting. if anything can be tried.
