How to divide the hard drive partitions in Windows 10 is not much different from previous Windows-Windows, Windows 8, Windows 7, which distinguishes only the initial view of the way to go to the Computer Management menu.
Generally we buy a new laptop hard drive only there is a C drive, for you who want to add the drive can partition / share it.
Go to the Computer Management menu,
To enter the Computer Management menu can be done in several ways
First step :
• Open File Explorer (the folder image in Toolbars that defaults below)
• Right click on This PC, then select Manage, then the Computer Management window will appear.
Another way to get to Computer Management:
• Press Windows logo on keyboard then type Computer Management, will be automatically redirected to search and will appear Computer Management menu, then click on Computer Management.
Once in the Computer Management window, we are ready to start sharing the partitions.
• Go to Disk Management, located in the Storage sub menu
In the example shown the physical amount of disk there is only 1 is Disk 0 which is used for system Reserved and for drive C.
Which will be divided partisinya that is drive C
• Right click on partition C
• Select / click Shrink Volume,
A querying process will appear for a while, then a dialog will appear to fill the partition size to be shared
In the example hardisk only 80GB capacity,
• Write down how much new partition capacity, in the example I want about 40 GB, then click the Shrink button. (for hardisk have you please adjust).
The new partition has appeared, then we have to create a new volume and then format it
• Right click on Unallocated
• Select New Simple Volume
• The Wizard will appear, click Next, then a dialog will appear to fill in how many new drive capacities will be created, in the example I used the maximum number of those that were dishrinked. then click Next.
• In the next window you want to create a new drive as what drive? D, E, F etc..only available to choose from. Then click Next.
• Then Summary will appear about the newly created volume, click Finish.
• New drive has appeared, can be seen through File Explorer.
