Setting Windows 8 VPN Connection

VPN is short for Virtual Private Network, with VPN connection we can connect to LAN (Local Area Network) from different place all over the world through internet connection ,,
Suppose we connect via VPN to our office LAN from home, on the way, while on duty to the region or from abroad.

To be able to connect to Router or VPN server then in computer / laptop / Tablet computer (tab) must be setting VPN Client.



In Windows 8 for VPN client settings the steps are as follows:

1. Right click on the network icon located in the lower right corner of the taskbar
2. Then select Open Network and Sharing Center

Then there will appear Network and Sharing Center window 
3 Click on Set up a new connection or network 

4. Select Connect to a workplace , then click Next


5. In the next step you can choose to use an existing connection to use when connecting to VPN, but if I prefer No, create a new connection . 
click Next 


6. In the Connect to Workplace window, select Use my Internet connection (VPN) 


7. Enter the server IP address / VPN router 
8. Name the Destination name , then click Create . 


Setting VPN has been created, so now we just run / connect VPN connection if needed. 


9. Left click on the Network icon located on the lower right corner of the taskbar, it will pop up the Network menu

10. Click on the VPN connection we created earlier, in the example name My VPN Connection 2 


11. Enter your VPN Username and Password, click OK to start the connection.

If it is successful then the status will be Connected 


Once the status is connected, you can connect to a computer or server in your office.
