There are many applications available / App Screen capture for iPhone available in the App Store to be installed on your iPhone device. But actually there is a way to capture or grab the iPhone screen display without using additional applications.

• Open the screen you want to capture
• Press and hold the Home button, then (the Home button is still pressed) press and release Power button, it will sound like a camera is taking the picture, automatically file capture will be saved.

Capture images can be opened / viewed using the photo app or any other application you have to open the image. 

This trick applies not only to iPhone 4, but all iPhone using iOS 2 and above.
